More than 40 years ago, the Sports Car Club of America was at the forefront of affordable endurance racing, and the SCCA is stepping back into the team endurance racing market, launching a new program in 2022 with an SCCA Team Enduro National Tour.
The new program model launches its inaugural season at Nelson Ledges Road Course in May, with events at VIR in August, Buttonwillow Raceway in November and MSR Houston in December all leading to the 2023 Team Enduro National Championship event at Sebring International Raceway the “Birthplace of American Endurance Racing.” in 2023.
The events will be open to nearly all vehicles which started life as a production car and have been modified for wheel-to-wheel racing (including cage, racing harnesses, etc.) and Enduro Driver's licenses will be open to most drivers with track day experience. (The SCCA Enduro Rookie License is open to drivers who have reached an "intermediate" or "solo" level at Track Days and Drivers Education events.)
